Services:
Citizens Advice Bureaux is a voluntary organisation providing free, confidential information and advice to anyone about any query or problem.

Citizens Advice Bureaux is staffed by trained volunteers who can access information by computer or from the extensive range of resources held by each bureau.

Citizens Advice Bureaux can give you information and advice about all sorts of problems or questions - all of which is free.

The Citizens Advice Bureaux New Zealand aims to:

Ensure that individuals do not suffer through ignorance of their rights and responsibilities, or of the services available; or through an inability to express their needs effectively.

The service therefore provides free to all individuals an impartial and confidential service of information, guidance and support and makes responsible use of the experience so gained.

CAB can provide information about almost anything. And if we can't, we'll find someone who can. No problem is too big or too small. Whether you're about to be thrown out of your flat, need to find local childcare, or want advice on how to deal with a neighbour, a trained CAB volunteer can help you. They'll discuss your options with you and give you contact numbers for any services or organisations that will be able to help you further.

One of the resources we provide is Information Sheets on topics such as renting, breakdown of relationships, debt. They provide step-by-step guides to help you find out what you need to know to resolve your problem.

CAB also act as a public watchdog for those who cannot do this for themselves.

We are committed to the responsible use of the enquiries information we receive to build a picture of what is affecting our communities, regionally and nationally.

Since we opened in Palmerston North in 1975, we have become a respected voice. We are trusted as informed and professional advocates of those that are disadvantaged or unfairly treated.
