Who are we:
Community Law Tararua is a branch of Manawatu Community Law Centre which is funded by the Legal Services Agency
The Community Law Centre is a non-profit charitable trust set up to provide for the unmet legal needs of the Manawatu and Tararua districts
The Community Law Centre provides legal information to assist members of the public who are faced with a legal issue they are not sure how to deal with.
The centre also runs legal education courses and provides education sessions to community organisations on legal issues

Our Aims are:
To provide a confidential service to the community at little or no cost to those who use it
To make this service easily accessible to all people in the community regardless of their circumstances
To help provide individuals with the information and support they need to make decisions regarding law related issues
To provide educational resources and training on law related issues to assist the community to better understand the law and the legal system

Our approach is:
To discuss with you your concerns and legal issues
To assist you to define the problem or problems
To provide you with legal information you can understand
To support you in resolving your difficulties
Where appropriate, to refer you within our resource network (e.g. lawyers,  community organisations and agencies or Government departments)
