YOSS is a free service for anyone aged from 10 to 24 years. We have a whole range of  ways to help out young people who live in Palmerston North.

Services include:

We can see you for everything you would normally access a health service for, including:
- Contraception and Sexual health
- Asthma
- Skin Conditions
- Work/sporting injuries
- Coughs, colds & the flu
- Headaches/migraines
- Feeling down/ having issues sleeping
Plus loads more! If in doubt check it out with us, if we can’t help with your health condition, we will definitely be able to point where to go to get it sorted

A bit about us:
Di Paki - Clinical Psychologist
Di’s job is to provide assessment and treatment for mental health issues like anxiety, stress, depression, and living a life you’re proud of. She is at YOSS full time, but works in Levin on a Wednesday.

Sarah Vaelua - Social Worker
Sarah has been here for the last 3 years and works 40hrs a week. She works with a whole range of different issues including self esteem, family relationships and family violence.

Colin Eriksen - Youth Worker
If you are worried about something, don't know what to do, where to go or who can help - Colin is the place to start. Colin also provides support and education around alcohol and drug issues. Colin has worked at YOSS for over 16 years, he was born + brought up in Palmy and knows heaps of contacts!

Sam Scott - Counsellor
Sam is at YOSS Monday to Thursday each week. She can deal with relationship, school and family stuff + depression. Sam is really approachable and will help you out in any way she can.

Trissel Mayor—Director
Trissel is the boss at YOSS and keeps us all on track.
She has worked at YOSS for 15 years.

Dr Dave Ayling – Doctor
Dave has worked at YOSS for the past 5 years thanks to his passion for delivering health care to young people. Dr Dave is straight up and will tell you how it is, but will always go out of his way to help you out. Dave is here 20hrs a week; on Tues, Thurs & Friday.

Camille Bing - Office Administrator
Camille has be running the front desk of YOSS since 2008. Camille is the person to call when you want an appointment and is the first you will see when coming to YOSS.

Jane Dennis - Youth Health Nurse
Jane is a super nurse who has tons of
experience as a nurse, has worked with young people in the past and is friendly, approachable and fun. Jane is at YOSS Monday to Friday.

Kaye Lourie - Youth Health Nurse
Kaye came to YOSS in early 2012 and LOVES being a nurse here. She is awesome with young people and can help sort out all your problems with her 30 years of nursing experience.

Kate Allen - Youth Health Nurse
Kate also came to YOSS in early 2012 and works here on a Monday and Thursday. She comes from a sexual health background but is able to help you out with any medical issues you have too!

And finally we now offer walk in clinics where young people who meet our criteria can come and see a nurse or a doctor without booking a formal appointment time.

The health service holds walk in clinics every week.
They are held on:
Tuesday 9.00am — 11.00am
Thursday 9.30am — 11.00am
Friday 9.00am — 11.00am
No appointment needed, just come along between the above times to see a nurse or doctor!
